National Premier Disability Services can provide skilled, expert support coordinators to assist you to use your plan to pursue your goals, live more independently, increase your skills and be included in your community and employment. If you have a psychosocial disability, we can provide a compassionate, experienced recovery coach to support you in your recovery journey to increase your independence and your social and economic participation.
How we support you
Focusing on what you want to achieve, and supporting you to get the best outcomes from your NDIS Plan, Support Coordination assists you to understand and manage your NDIS plan.
The most important person in every NDIS Plan is you. So, when it comes to choosing and coordinating your supports, we will work alongside you to connect you with the supports and service that are specific to assisting you to achieve your goals.
Support Coordination aims to build your skills and confidence to independently manage your NDIS supports. Support Coordinators provide guidance and trusted advice so you can make confident, educated decisions about your supports.
Our Support Coordinators and Recovery Coaches will endeavour to find supports that cater to your beliefs, languages, customs, rituals, behaviours, faith/religion, food and attitude.
Are you eligible?
The NDIA may fund a support coordinator or a recovery coach in your NDIS plan, depending on your individual circumstances. You can start exploring your eligibility for the NDIS here:
If you already have a NDIS package that includes support coordination or a recovery coach, then YES, you are eligible to access our services.

What is Support Coordination?
- 1. Support connection – This support is to build your ability to connect with informal, community and funded supports enabling you to get the most out of your plan and pursue your goals.
- 2. Support coordination – coordination of supports: This support will assist you to build the skills you need to understand and use your plan. A support coordinator will work with you to ensure a mix of supports are used to increase your capacity to maintain relationships, manage service delivery tasks, live more independently and be included in your community.
- 3. Specialist support coordination – This is a higher level of support coordination. It is for people whose situations are more complex and who need specialist support. A specialist Support Coordinator will assist you to manage challenges in your support environment and ensuring consistent delivery of service.
What is Recovery Coach?
Generally, recovery coach will be funded in plans for people with psychosocial support needs. A recovery coach is an NDIS funded worker that has mental health knowledge. A recovery coach can:
- 1. Spend time with you, and people important to you, to get to know you and understand your needs
- 2. Help you to find out about different services and supports, and how these can help you
- 3. Help you get support from mental health services
- 4. Help you better understand the NDIS and support you with the NDIS
Can I have both?
For most people we recommend that you only have a recovery coach because it is a better use of your NDIS plan. Depending on your plan or situation you may choose to have both.
You do not have to choose a recovery coach if you do not want one.
